Ticket prices – Lightpark AARAU RENNBAHN

Opening hours: Thursday – Sunday, 4:00 PM – 9:00 PM

Basic ticket: 13.10 CHF
Valid for all visitors aged 12 to 64 years.

Reduced ticket: 6 CHF

For children aged 2 to 11, seniors aged 65 and over, and people with disabilities.
Please note: Seniors and people with disabilities must present a valid ID at the entrance to qualify for the reduced admission.

Family ticket: 31.40 CHF

The family ticket is valid exclusively for 2 adults and 2 children (aged 2–11 years). It cannot be combined with other discounts or extended to additional persons.

Children under 2 years : free admission

Admission is free when accompanied by an adult with a valid ticket.

Getting There

How do I get to the event venue in Aarau?

The exhibition takes place at the Schachen Racecourse, Schwimmbadstrasse 18, 5000 Aarau.

You can easily reach Aarau by train or by car:

  • By train: From Zurich (Airport or Zurich Main Station HB), direct trains run to Aarau. The journey takes about 40 minutes. There are also direct connections from Basel, Bern, and other cities. From Aarau train station, you can reach the Schachen grounds in about 10–15 minutes on foot.
  • By car: Aarau is located directly on the A1 motorway. From Zurich, take the Aarau Ost exit; from Bern, take the Aarau West exit. Parking is available near the Schachen grounds.

We recommend planning your journey in advance—whether you take the convenient train connection or travel by car.

Parking

Parking areas for visitors to the exhibition are available near the Schachen Racecourse grounds. We recommend arriving early, especially on evenings and weekends, as parking capacity may be limited.

Dogs

Dogs are welcome on the grounds but must be kept on a leash. Owners are fully responsible for their pets throughout the visit and are required to clean up after them. Thank you for your considerate behavior, which helps ensure a pleasant experience for all visitors.

Photography

Photography and filming on the grounds are permitted. We’re delighted if you share your impressions on social media and tag us: @storyoflightsschweiz.
For safety reasons, drone flying is not allowed.

Refreshments

The Schachen Racecourse grounds also include a restaurant and various food stalls. Visitors can look forward to a wide selection of hot drinks, light meals, as well as sweet and savory snacks. Thanks to the on-site dining options, you can enjoy your visit to the light park in full comfort—whether with a relaxed dinner or simply a warm drink while strolling among the light sculptures.

Barrier-free

The light park grounds are fully accessible. The pathways are suitable for both visitors with strollers and wheelchair users, allowing everyone to enjoy the magical atmosphere of the exhibition without restrictions. In addition, accessible restrooms are available to ensure maximum comfort for all guests.

Restrooms

The light park grounds offer visitors modern, fully equipped sanitary facilities. Clean and well-maintained restrooms are available, including accessible facilities for wheelchair users and visitors with strollers. A baby changing table is also provided for parents with young children.
