The First Light Castle in Croatia
Discover Trakošćan Castle of Lights, the first illuminated castle in Croatia. This romantic 13th-century fortress, once the home of the noble Drašković family, belongs among the country’s most beautiful landmarks. By night it transforms into a glowing fairy tale that connects history, legends and magical light.
Legends Come to Life
Admire a majestic light dragon, noble knights, shining horses and mystical animals in the breathtaking surroundings of Trakošćan Castle. Under the starry sky you will experience romance, hunting traditions and noble grandeur illuminated by hundreds of thousands of lights. A unique journey through history and fantasy awaits children and adults alike.

Tickets information
Online tickets are cheaper than at the ticket office.
Types of tickets:
- Standard: visitors aged 15–64
- Discounted: children aged 5–14, students up to 26 with a valid ID, disabled persons (PWD/RC), and seniors 65+
- Family 2+2: 2 adults + 2 children or 1 adult + 3 children
- Family 2+3: 2 adults and 3 children
- Children under 5 years – free
- When purchasing a discounted, PWD, or PWD/RC ticket, it is necessary to present a valid photo ID to the staff.
- Tickets can be purchased online, or in cash or by card at the ticket office.
- Benefit cards are not accepted.
- The ticket is single-use.
- The length of the visit is not limited within the opening hours, but re-entry is not allowed.

- The exhibition is closed on December 24 and 25.
It is open on December 31.
Parking
Parking is free of charge and available directly at the entrance to the castle complex, next to the ticket office.
Dogs
Dogs are welcome here. Even if your four-legged friend is well-behaved, for the comfort of other visitors it is necessary to keep your dog on a leash and with a muzzle. And don’t forget the waste bags!
Photography
Photography is allowed free of charge. The use of drones is strictly prohibited. We would be happy if you share your photos on social media and tag us at @storyoflightshr – we love to share your moments.
Refreshments
A restaurant is located directly within the exhibition complex, where you can eat, drink, enjoy refreshments and warm up.
Accessibility
The exhibition is accessible for people with disabilities and for strollers, but please note that it takes place in a castle complex where access may be difficult. Assistance is required.
Restrooms
Fully equipped wheelchair-accessible restrooms are available on the premises.
